Paşabağları Archaeological Site

Distinctive capped fairy chimneys and rock-cut spaces in Cappadocia.

A closer look

Paşabağları is noted for fairy chimneys with multiple caps. Religious spaces carved into some formations show how people made use of the natural landscape.

Look for different photographic angles without leaving the walking paths. Comparing a formation from near and far helps reveal the contrast between its shaft and the more resistant layer above.
