About this itinerary

Give the first and longest visit of the day to Topkapı Palace. Choose the courtyards and collections that interest you; there is no need to see every section in one visit.

Continue to the Basilica Cistern for a different sense of space after the open courtyards. Make Sultan Ahmed Mosque your final stop, adjusting the timing of the last two visits if worship or visitor queues require it. This suggested order does not guarantee admission at a particular time.

Transport plan

Walking is suggested between stops. Check the visitor entrance and approach to Topkapı Palace for your travel day. Map pins may indicate general locations; follow local signs to actual palace and mosque entrances. Plan your return from the final stop separately.

Visiting tips

Choose your day after checking the palace’s closure information in its place guide. Review ticket inclusions and distinguish ticket-office hours from visiting hours. Respect mosque dress and worship rules. The 6–8 hour range is an editorial allowance for visits, transfers and breaks; queues can extend it.
