Temple of Apollo at Didyma
Towering columns reveal the scale of Didyma’s ancient oracle sanctuary.
A closer look
The Temple of Apollo anchors the sanctuary of Didyma in modern Didim. This was a sacred centre connected to Miletus by a sacred road, rather than simply another independent ancient city. Its standing columns and deep interior reveal the ambition of a building that remained unfinished.
Allow time for column bases and carved details along the permitted visitor route. Miletus can share the same day, provided you leave enough time for travel and a separate walk at each site.
